Cape Lookout National Seashore is a national treasure. Miles of footpaths cross the dunes. Although the national seashore is 55 miles long, in most places the islands are only 700 yards wide. At the more popular locations, boardwalks make the walking easier and protect the fragile grasslands from thousands of feet.
